Amazing what you can do with a red pencil in the moments between songs during rehearsal. Some sketches are based on folks I see around me, most are spill over from studies earlier in the day.

This is the unofficial logo for the Mormon Tabernacle Central States tour. It made a nice cover for the activity book I created to keep myself busy on the long bus rides. MTC OTS stands for Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra on Temple Square. Our tour route is seen below the tour date.

LaserTab

LaserTab: a hip choral mixture which just might include Bernstein's Chichester Psalms, The Battle Hymn of the Republic, and an ABBA medley. This poster is more or less an exploration for me in getting several elements both graphic and photographic live in the same space. The laser glow is the glue holding everything together here. This is not an actual event for the choir. Yet.

Pretty and Puckered

Based on the traditional mountain folk song of the Southern Appalatians, "Sourwood Mountain."

I composed this drawing right after performing this song with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. I drew it in pieces in the sketchbook, put the pieces together in photoshop and redrew everything with the Wacom tablet. I love how adding the flare in the background alludes to the sunrise and how the light bounces off our Blue Eyed Daisy.

My little girl's a Blue Eyed Daisy, if I don't get her I'll go crazy...

Ping Pong Sing Song

Where a fan meets ping pong and singing at the Tabernacle on Temple Square. This will come in handy since there is no air conditioning, and it may even prove to be useful during any down time. Did anybody bring a ball?
